Ok heres a couple of questions about fan shrouds. Is there a difference between a '69 GS350 shroud and a '69 GS400 shroud? Now lets say I come across a '69 GS400 shroud, is it the same as a '70 GS 455 shroud? Close, not at all, or identical. What is the part # for a '69 400 shroud?

    Thanks,

  2. Tim, the 69 350 and 400 shrouds are not interchangeable. I have a 69 400 shroud in the garage, that I will be using whenever I can get my 455 built. If I get a chance at noon today, I'll go get the # off it and post it, if someone else hasn't already done so by then. I believe it will work in place of a 70 455 shroud, but wouldn't be correct/identical.

  3. The # on the 69 400 shroud I bought last winter is 1230036.

Thanks David. One more question, does a '69 shroud have a mount for the radiator hose support hook similar to the '70?

  5. Not sure, but I doubt it. I'm not familiar with the 70 shroud.

Both fan shrouds for the 69's should have the fan hook. My GS California had one and the GS400 shrouds have one as well. I have no idea about the 70-72 cars. I believe one of those years uses a strap instead of a hook, but I'm not sure which year that was.

70's had a hook, the one pictured looks just like my 70 repo shroud. I had to drill it to attach the hook.

  9. Rick, do you believe mine is a repro? It is GM part #'d, and the seller said it came off a 69 SW, if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure I remember the part # checking out as a 69 400 part.

There is some type of attaching point in the place where the hose would pass by the shroud. Looks like something would insert into a slot, and it has a couple small holes in it too. The quality looks very good to me, not like a typical repro shroud.

That looks like a GM part to me Dave. I have the repo one and it's nowhere near as nice as that. The whole inside of mine has an unfinished look to it.
