Im taking out the electric fan setup I have in my '70 GS. It sucks. (I intended that pun) Based on all I have read in here, It seems the best course is not to resort back to the flex fan setup (which actually worked VERY good) but am leaning towards the clutch/fan deal....which is also supposed to work very good. so I have two questions: 1. Will the standard replacement Flex-O-Lite thermostatic clutch be sufficient? I remember way back when, hearing about some Chevy Truck thermostatic fan clutch that worked good, but was expensive. If the 39.00 flex-o-lite deal will work, thats the winner. 2. Flex-o-lite also makes an OEM 6-bladed steel fixed-blade fan that fits their clutch. This seems like the logical choice..right? Anyway, for a '70 GS 455 (stock shroud) is the 19" or the 20" the correct fan? I do not have the replacement shroud in yet, so I have nothing to measure. Again..thank you! Bob C.

Bob ole buddy, I thought maybe you went to Davey Jones's Locker. Ain't heard from you. The Chevy truck clutch worked great for me; I've never had a heat problem since going to it. Brought temps down at least 20*. I did change to MSD dist. at the same time so that could have contributed. '85 Chevy 454 truck. $116 at NAPA. I have a 7-blade fan here if you want it. I'll measure it to confirm but pretty sure it's the same as the one I have on the car. PM me if you want. Didn't know if you'd see a PM so posting here. Gary
