I have a hitch that I took off my Riv that my father ordered new in 67, he is no longer with me to ask if this was an option at the dealer or not? The hitch has stamped in it with real small font 1966 Buick Riviera and on the flip side it has Belleville. Mich. It bolted with two bolts to the frame and one to the bumper. Is this factory\dealer option, or did dad install it? Glenn

    yes

Glenn, In 67 a hitch was available as an option on all Buicks - the one you describe does sound like a correct unit - the bar that came out under the bumper was chrome on the ones available from Buick. The part # was 981129 for the Riviera, it cost a whooping $15.25 and took .8 hrs to install.

I have one for my 72 Centurion.
