factory tack hook up

    hello i am new to this i think this is where i am supposed to post this question i am hooking up tack in 70 convertible i have a tack from a 71 and a 71 wire harness its hacked up so i am trying to figure out what is hot wire on the tack ? and is one of the studs a ground for the lights in the tack one terminal runs horizontal one runs verticle i have a after market wire with a in line fuse to go to coil but dont know witch tab to hook onto thanks for any info wally

    I cannot think of the exact hookup off the top of my head but scrap the aftermarket wire and contact Yeaar One or a wire company like M and H or Factory Fit and order a proper repro brown wire. I don't remember if there is a fuse. The connections on the repro wire should make it easy to tell where the wire attaches. The wire goes through the firewall through a grommet on the outboard side of the brake booster. Not sure if it is there on non tach cars. The wire then is taped to the wiring harness along the fire wall goes under the voltage regulator along the intake with the other wires and attaches to the coil. hope this helps.
