I am dropping in a 1970 350 into my 1969 skylark, and I am wondering if
the exhaust manifolds are the same.

Will I have to change my Y pipe or will it just bolt up???

    Thanks

    james,

i recently replaced the passenger side exh manifold, the donor was a 1970 buick 350 from a jeep wagoneer...the bolts lined up perfectly, the ports were the same size/shape...only difference was where the pipe meets the manifold, my 68's exhaust pipe had some sort of valve assembly (i haven't gotten around to checking my shop manual to see what its function was :( ) that didn't quite match the manifold, which had some sort of flanged opening...

solution, i removed the valve thingy, and it went on with no problem...

haven't noticed any problems due to the removal of said thingy either, only the expected lack of exhaust noise and slight performance increase...

i'll send a picture of the driver's side manifold (which will be going on in the next couple of weeks) when i get back in town...

    hope this helps,
    scott
