Listen to me everyone. Alan deserves a special consideration for his effort at the BPG Nationals. You didn't notice any difference during the event, but you certainly will in a few weeks time. Alan sacrificed his entire 4 days at the event to stand in the back of a golf cart and videotape run after run after run. When he wasn't taping races he was either interviewing people, taking pictures or taping all the goings-on around the track. He certainly didn't spend his time mingling and chatting with new and old friends. Others also snapped a ton of pics, and some took video, and they will be credited as contributors when Alan edits the tapes and images and distills them all onto a DVD for us to have. So, like the Massachussets gang who also didn't mingle and race a lot, but instead contributed to a more clandestine approach to making the event a success for others, Alan (and I'm sure there are others who I hope we soon find about about) deserve a very special thanks for openly giving away their event in the hope that others may benefit. You're the best, budnick. And if you took video or pictures, we'd like to use them all to make the video a real winner. Please contact Alan. He can assist you in getting the images sent to him.
Alan, That's great! You are the only way other than this bulletin board that guys like me who were unable to attend will be able to experience the first BPG Nationals. Thanks!
ALAN IS THE MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *(with a little help from his friends) :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU:
Hey Alan, as you're ridin' off into that sunset be sure to rub sunblock on your bald spot! :moonu: :moonu: :moonu:
Ron, Alan's photo looks like a great add for "hair club for men", Alan looking into the mirror: Jeez where has it gone? was is the wind from the convert.? what can I do now? Great to meet you and Larry, and Alan, who busted his butt to get good photos, and the many, many others I was fortunate enough to meet. Bruce
Yes, Thank You Alan!:TU: I was wondering where Alan went, until I saw him standing in the back of that cart with his tri-pod filming what seemed like every run there was. I'm sure the finished product will be awesome, and allow those of us that were there to see parts of the Nats we missed, and those of us that weren't there to experience what it was like. Thanks again for putting in the time Alan:beer
Alan,-------- Looking forward to seeing the final result of all your hard work. We didn't arrive until Sunday and so we didn't get a chance to meet you in person. I got a great picture of you helping hang the BPG sign on the fence for the awards...with "Big Red" in the foreground.Met Mike from TA Performance. Said that next year I can park my '68 SpecialDeluxe wagon alongside TA Wagon. I'd like to get a picture of that next year. All in all we had a great time! Thumbs up for Alan. ......John
I'll get all my pictures together and send them over asap... The drive home today wiped me out....and then the baseball game....UGH
Thanks Guys.....but the real credit goes to the BPG Board of Directors and helpers for all the hard work put in to organize and then pull off an event like this !! Credit is also due to every single guy and gal, young and old, who gave up thier time, in whatever way they did, to make this event the HUGE success it was. Really.....there are alot more names than mine that need and warrant special thanks for the AWSOME time we all had This was my way of pitching in and giving back - Im just the grown up nerd from the A/V Squad who likes to take some pictures Ohhh...and fry some rubber now and then I may be talking out of line here .....but what the BPG needs MOST is to add your name to something - any little thing - and help out !! Its ALOT easier for alot of people to do a little bit of work than for a few people to do ALOT of work. Bruce - you did an AWSOME JOB and my bald-spot covering Hat is off to you :TU: People - Im sure if you contact Bruce ( or Jim Haas, Rick Martinez, Doug Hecker or other event Directors) and ask how you can help make next year's event even better, he'll be ready with a List of things to choose from - or do as I did and suggest something that you enjoy and specialize in and can offer as help. That my friends, is the definition of a Club and Im very proud to be a member of the BPG Lastly....Kevin ?? Glad I could be there for you :TU: I know you would have done the same for me......as well as anyone else who bleeds Buick Red when they whack their knuckles underhood. What an Awsome adventure your week was - Im just glad I was there to read the story from page 1. You and the whole band of Massholes ROCK !!!
If anyone wants to add their material to the Video PLEASE contact me ASAP so I can get it right away and get started. I shot 9 one-hour DV tapes (thats 9 HOURS !!) but Im sure I still missed ALOT. Please PM me so we can make arrangements.
Thanks Alan Yea, this guy gave up his whole weekend to shoot the whole car show and sat atop his cart for all the racing at about the 330" mark. Every run I saw, there was Alan shooting the stuff. Way to go Alan Your dedication to the task was remarkable and I'm sure it'l be an epic once the edits are all done. Your Chicago fan club Dana & Beth :TU: :TU:
