What is the best pass that buick has made. I am shooting for some 9s in Denver,CO at 5,800feet not shure if it will make it 464 with stage 3 heads big solid roller 3.73 rear with a 400 with a brake. I would like to run T/S in PSCA the rules in the class is 3300pound for big block 525inches with single plate system They where running high 8s in VEGAS. I need to shoot for the high9s here so i would be in the ball park down there.:beer

    Hi Jeff (again:) ),

Give it a few days then try PM'n "Buicks4Speed" here on the board, he probably would come closest to honestly answering your question accurately. :TU:

276/270 intake/exhaust duration at .050 with .710/.700 gross lift? Who's grinding the cam? I'm guessing you mean 270/276 on the cam duration.
With a cam that small I wouldn't go with any more than a 3.55 or 3.70 gear and a 10" 2200 stall since on nitrous the motors good working power band is 4500-6800rpm. You'll run out of rpm room going through the 1/4 mi running any more gear or converter. With a 3.90 gear you'll already be at least at 7400 running high 8's with a 29.5" tire. I know computer programs tell you your motor will pull past 6800 but it doesn't. My 464 doesn't go any faster turning it to 7200 vs 6600. And my heads flow just as well as yours. In fact, I lost 4 tenths in the 1/8 when my tranny sprung a internal leaking causing the converter to stall to 5800rpm and I was running the motor between 5800 and 6800.
I hope you have the T&D "shaft" roller rockers that bolt down to the plate. The "stock" style shaft set up doesn't work well at all with a good roller spring.
