Stopped by a GM dealership on the way to work today to pick up a couple pints of EOS and 4oz of limited slip additive for the new eaton unit... well anyway, the guy was like "putting together a couple motors"... nah Im just about to fire an old buick motor I just rebuilt.. "ahh you only need one pint" yeah but I plan to add a pint to every oil change" guy gave me a funny look and proceeded to read the back of the bottle... ok, yeah it does say its not recommended as an oil additive, but i tried to explain my reasoning through the advice I got through this board. Well he proceeded to say how many years he has worked at a machine shop and he built a couple buick motors himself yada yada... well im not gonna argue with him.. just give me my stuff and ill be on my way... :af: :af: :af:

Yeah im 20 years old, im sure im stereotyped when it comes to knowedge about buicks, but I know my fair share.

I had the same experience getting my tires the other day. I told the guy what size I wanted and, nope they won't fit on my car. It seems that the size he runs on his Chevelle, but since the Buick is a little different they'll rub. "tons of guys are running these on their GS's"- "They can't be, you must have your #'s wrong"- Whatever, idot, I'm going down the street.....:af: BTW they fit great:TU:

I hate people like that. You may have 50 years of experience, been a prototype builder, been the president of GM, owned 40 stage 1's and someone will still say "no, that won't work".

Those that think they know it all have a tendancy to irritate those of us that do!

Everybody has to be an expert, right? Yeah, well here's to the
expert . . . An "ex" is a "has-been" and a "spurt" is a "drip under pressure." :blast:

I believe I have read that Dennis Manner, one of the fathers of our Buick engines, recommends the EOS. Go stick that bit of info in the guys face and see what he says.

    EXACTLY!!!!!!!!

"Excuse me sir, but Dannis Manner, the designer and engineer of the Buick 400, 430 and 455 engines is a member of the Riviera Owners Association and the Buick Performance Group, to which I also belong, and he personally recommended to the BPG club president, Jim Weise, that we use a pint of EOS with every oil change. And I believe Mr. Manner knows more about the best things for my Buick than you do."

Could you stand to see the look on his face when you retort with that?

You beat me to it Zach.

    C-ya Saturday!
