Kenny If i am correct, that is just the road that runs to the track, says that he will still let him use it though, so seems like a useless battle. I thought there was a battle going on with that road for years, i know that the last time we were at the Nats, we used the other road to get in there.
Bummer!! I like that road! I think its neat driving through a farm to get to the dragstrip. Is the "other way" through the amusement park?? Is it the road that intersects the one to the track, with the trees down the middle?
That's what I thought, the only road I know of is the 90* right turn onto the tree lined narrow road up to the track, which I always thought was pretty cool. And that's when I Knew I was in KENTUCKY :grin:
Kenny, the last few years we haven't been making that 90 degree right turn anymore. We'd head straight up the hill past the two houses on that little piece of road. Dallas paved a road on his property that ran right up to that piece of road, essentially making a dead-end into a thoroughfare. Pretty cool idea, if you can get away with it. The guy who owns the two houses has been fighting Dallas ever since he did it, insisting that the stretch in front of his houses is private property. My guess is he doesn't really want to shut the road down. He just wants to get paid for an easement. I heard that the bigger trucks and trailers have a tough time making the 90 degree turn and navigating the tree lined road. Hence the need for a straight route.
