Has anybody changed one of these out while the car was still together? Mine is pretty beat up and I think it would be good to change out. when I move the wires around the insulation is stiff, ready to crack.

I've done it. It's very easy. You'll want to buy a couple of the black "zip" retainers to tie it down to the inner driver's side fender and up underneath the top of the core support too I believe. The biggest thing is fishing the wires down to the starter and getting the ground screws off by the headlights. But it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do.

    Engine Harness

    Ted,

As Phil stated, it's pretty easy. There are two harnesses under the hood that tie together at the junction block on the firewall, engine and light harness. If you are just replacing the engine harness, I would start at the starter and work backwards to the junction block on the firewall. The starter end is the hardest part to do so you want plenty of slack in the wires when connecting to the starter. A new harness makes the engine compartment look so much cleaner and tideier(sp?).

By the way, it was nice to meet you and talk to you at Brad Conley's get togehter.

    Take care,

    Larry

Thanks sounds like I have another project for myself! I need to figure out why it won't start before I go changing the harness...I hope its not the Pertronics Gone bad. :beer

It was good to meet you as well, Larry. I see you are selling one of your projects-tempting!

I have an Ignitor 2 and the computer module went bad. Cost me about $95 to get another one. GGRRRRR. It did last about 2 years only. If this one goes bad, I'm going to the IgnitionMan for my next distributor.
