What temp should the dash light come on at?
Are the other sensors available, for lower temps.
I'd like the light to come on at 200*

    Cheers!

i believe the light comes on at 245 degrees. you could replace the factory sender with any thermostatic switch that switched to ground. an electric cooling fan switch could be made to work, and you can pretty much pick any temp you want.

For SOME reason, I'm thinking it comes on at 252/256:Do No:

Stewart Warner has a temp switch ( #83304 ) that grounds out at 200F.

Tell me you at least have an oil pressure gauge. Install a temperature gauge as well.

Got all the gauges, just looking for an idiot light to come on around 200*.
You know I'm driving it, so keep the idiot comments short please.

    Cheers!

:laugh: I promise, no idiot references. I googled looking for adjustable water temp sending units for lights.

Seems like 230* is the lowest so far.

Was looking on some other Forums, and some advise using an adjustable switch like the ones that come with electrical fans.

Why do you want the light to come on every time you stand on the gas pedal? 200F is much too low.

    Thanks Larry!

    That's what i currently have.
Actually 2 of them running 2 16" fans.
    #1 set @150*, #2@190*

with #1 fan running the car runs @185 most days.

The "dash" light is an independent "Idiot" light just in the case
one of the fans or electric water pump isn't cooling plus
i won't have to watch the temp gauge ALL the time.

I'll figure it out, one way or another.
    Cheers!

    Thanks Guys,
i went with 200*on/185*off switch, it turn fan#2 on 100%
    fan#1 turns on 50% at 160*
when fan#2 come on the temp light also comes on, reminds me to keep an eye on the temp gauge.
    so far, so good.
    Cheers!
