what do you guys on average say it would cost to ship a buick 350 730 miles? i ask cuz im debating on weither to ship my motor to a buick specialist or just have a good quality machine shop here in san diego do the block cleaning and machining of the block as well as assembling the bottom end, the heads i would still send out tho if i have it done here locally.

If it's a good quality machine shop like you say there should be no problem. However if there is even the slightest hint of them knowing everything and not listening to your specific needs ship it out.
Buick engines are not the norm for mach. shops but some will acknowledge the special requirements needed through experience from other engines. There is smart guys out there. Buick specialist or not have the measurements of the block/crank etc. done by someone who knows what they are doing to confirm.

not sure what TA performance is up to but it would probably be cheaper to toss it in a truck and drive it yourself the 6 or so hours to az. if you dont mind the driving time id think you could make two round trips for under 200 bucks in gas? :beer
