since my 455 in my monte carlo decided to spit out a connecting rod on my fourth pass on the 1st week of drag racing im gonna go back with chevy406 small block power. The car went 7.20at 95mph thats 4 tenths quicker that last year .

my question is that since i have to change the frame mounts anyway would it be worth the effort to move the engine back 1 to 2 inches to help dragstrip traction and beter balance the car out?does any one know if this is possible while using a set of supercomp headers also? any help and experience is greatly appreciated!

What the heck is causing the BBB to come apart? Hundreds of guys on here with craploads of passes on their BBBs, w/o a spot of trouble. A BBB in a Chevy is awesome, spend some $$$ on good machine work & race away. But if you are down on $$$ & have another motor sitting there, I understand that.
