Dose any body know the difference if any on the engine mounts on a 322 and a 364. I was thinking about cramming my 364 in a 53 rivi. What am I getting myself into. Haven't bought the car yet just plotting and scheming.

    MOTOR MOUNTS

The motor mounts are different, but more importantly-the bellhousing is different. The 364, 401, 425 motors have smaller bellhousings than the 264, 322.

You would need to replace the transmission also. If you were to use the th400, the swap would seem more worth your efforts..

I was planning on using the tranny too i just rebuilt it so I am going to get my money out of it. Did you mean the 264 have a smaller bellhousing Because if the 364 dose there is no problem. I wish I would of looked at the difference before I sold my 55. How different sre the mounts will I need to completley redo them. or is it a matter of tweaking either way I have the stuff to do it.

    MOTOR SWAP

The 264/322 bellhousing is larger than the 364/401. but if you are using the trans from the 364 you should be ok. The exhaust manifolds will bolt up and work 'ok' but the port shapes are different. The 264/322 are round, the later are rectanglar.

The difference in the motor mounts: the 264/322 use a three bolt pattern, the later motors have a four bolt pattern. none of the holes will line up. I don't think there is enoug room on the original mounts to redrill them but a 5/16 plate with both patterns will adapt them to each other.

You should also check to see if the drive shaft/torque tube will fit your transmission.
