    I’m currently doing a 350-455 conversion I’m my 70 GS.
I have new frame pad mounts from TA performance and the correct big block engine mounts.

I have put the 455 in the car, as I went to install the passenger side exhaust manifold, I’ve noticed it is hitting the top of the engine mount and I cannot put the bolts in.

Is it safe to trim the top of the engine mount? Or has anyone had this problem before?

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

There is quite a bit that you can safely remove from a mount, but if you can post a pick of a mount and the area that is of concern someone can verify.

Are you sure you placed the pads in the right location for the new 455?

I'd like to know the outcome of this myself as I'll be doing the same transplant,350 to 455, soon. Would be nice to know what to look out for or any fixes for this problem if I have the same trouble.

Could be the pad, motor mount, or the combination of both in the wrong place.
