hey all, were having problems with lining up the motor mounts on the engine to the car. The flexplate is bolted to the crank, and the bolts that hold the bellhousing to the block are on, but not tight. We just can't seem to get the mounts lined up enough to put the bolt through. Car is 1968 GS400 and turbo400 tranny

Sometimes the engine mounts fit snugly on the frame mounts. Try using a lil bit of drop to see if the inertia will align the holes. If not, use a large phillips to align the holes or a steel center punch to do the same. If you can not even get holes close, take them off the engine and test fit them on the frame mounts to ID the problem.

Loosen the bolts on the engine mounts first.

Sometimes the rubber on the mounts prevents the holes from lining up.

Be sure when the block is bolted to the trans that the converter spins freely and has 1/4" to 1/2" of back and forth motion. Otherwise, the converter is not seated properly.
