Took these a few years ago, don't know why I never posted them I had the engine out 12 hours after I lost oil pressure...and i had lots of engine parts on order, for upgrades unrelated to the engine damage. I decided to wait until I had all the new stuff, but it took 10 weeks to get all my parts! Suddenly, it was after Thanksgiving, and the car had snow on it for the first time in 9 years
Setting the preload- correctly, I think. I've only driven the car about 100 miles since '04. I'm going to get a set of stock rockers and do some comparisons...but I do like the rollers. They are slick Yes, those are Christmas lights
had no choice but to basically rebuild the engine in this crowded garage...messy, too, as it was chock full of my little bits of junk. I had some pics of me washing the crank down with hot water in the snow, but I can't find them. Luckily it only needed new bearings. I inspected the crank, and found two scratches, both 360* around on the oil holes- but circular, not spiral. I polished down the scratches with very fine scotch brite coated with oil, and used a leather belt to work the scotchbrite. Just enough to break the edges of the scratches down, then I plasti-gaged everything. In spec. Whew! All this from oil pressure loss at around 90mph. Two rod and one main bearing worn right down to the jacket. I now haave a nice oil pressure gauge installed
Eventually, we got the engine right back in. Next weekend after that one, I drove right up to storage for the winter and parked it. If I'd had the parts, it would have been a one-week deal! Instead, over two months
