    I found a place online that sells rebuilt engines and offers a Buick 455. They offer the same block, heads and crank casting #'s for every year 455 between 1969 and 1972. (WTF)
    I can't find the specs for the castings they give anywhere.
    Block # 1231738 1238861
    Heads # 1231786 1237661 1240149
    Crank # 1379242
    Would anybody know what year Buick this engine is really for and the specs.
    They want $1575 for this rebuilt engine and offer performance upgrades.
    It seems very suspicious to me that every year, every model 455 they give the same casting. And the price sounds a little bit too good.
    Anyone ever heard of the company?
    Is the engine worth the $.
    Thanks, Aubrey

    Block # 1231738 = 1970 / 1971 455

    1238861= 1971 / 1972 455

    Heads # 1231786 = 1970 455

    1237661 = 1971 455

    1240149 = 1970 / 1971 455

    Duh, why didn't I recognize that they had listed casting #'s from different years. This would help explai why they had the same casting #'s for the two years.
    Thanks a lot Erik. I was checking out your car on BuickStreet.com earlier. That's a really nice ride! I must be a nightmare getting parts in Europe. I was in Germany for 4 years know it can be difficult to get parts for current American cars, let alone a 30 year old ones. Take care of it man.
    WOuld anyone happen to know the specs on these engines?
    Are they originally out of a Riviera?
    Thanks a lot for all of the help.

    I don't think my car is on Buickstreet :confused:

    Obtaining parts isn't all that hard, but we pay at least 3 times the prices you lot in America are paying.
    Shipping large items is a very costly business
    Luckily we have our own Boattail scrapyard :TU:
