    I don't understand what a build date of "M-10" for a 1970 455 would mean?
    Help :Do No:

I recall Dec 10 , 1969 since "I" is skipped. But verify this with another too.

You are correct "I" was skipped in alphabet count for months because it looked like a one.

    Yep

Dec 10, 1969 is the day the block was casted. I expect the car would have been completed at least by Jan 10th. :3gears:

Just going through all my stuff now that I have some time and this is one of many extra blocks I have laying around...saw the "M" and wondered.

    Is H - 11 an early date for a 1973? :Do No:

    Jim,
Do you know when 1973 cars started rolling off the assembly line and into dealer's showrooms? Thanks

Just by history of an imperfect memory I asssume late August or early September, 1972.

Cool. :bglasses: My car's door says August 1972 so it must be a very early production. Thanks Jim. :TU:

    Block casting date

There is no rule of thumb for the relationship between the cast date on the block and the production date of the car. Most are close, some are not. Obviously the car was built later than the block. Some documented cases actually show the cast date of the block AFTER the build date of the car. There were many factors that would result in scewed dates. Not trying to start a debate here. Dennis
