I have been trying to locate one of these for my 70 GS with California Emissions. This part is found in front of the gas tank above the differential. Might be the same part on the big cars with California Emissions? o No: Please check out the pic (circled in red). Thanks in advance!
Tyler, The set-up that Jeff is asking about is for 70 Calif emission cars only. It will not be under your 72 car. Duane
Thanks Duane, I'll tell him. He can check under the 70 car. No idea what it was. Maybe we'll get lucky for Jeff.
The RT pipe runs along the passenger side frame rail to connect to a charcoal canister located under the hood. Hope someone finds something, thank you all for looking.
If I cannot find one of these valves, I suppose I could disable the California emissions functionality but make it look like it works. Maybe hook everything up and use a vented cap, plug the lines off the tank with something??? o No: Trying to make stuff as correct as possible is alot more difficult than I ever imagined. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. :beers2:
its described as a 68-70 vent relief valve, its 29.00.however i would try to find an original before you buy because the one they sell looks different from the assembly manual.this way you can be sure they arent selling a chevy or pontiac part,no part number just a pic on page 184 of thier new product guide on thier website
Jeff, "Mr Big" on this board had a '70 Skylark parts car with CA emissions. We bought the under hood stuff, but we didn't need the part that you are seeking so it might still be under his parts car (if he still has that car). Shoot him a private message and ask, but hurry, soon the bugs and snakes will be coming out and no one will want to crawl under the car
So here's what's left of the parts car owned by Mr Big after my dad also bought the roof to use on his '70 Stage 1. Not much left... but it might have the valve... good luck...
