I do believe you can use the set up from a Pont. Fiero. I'm not 100% on that though.

I have done 2 electric fan setups. One for my Buick and one for my sisters 65 mustang. I did a junkyard setup for my Buick and and a fancy kit for the Mustang. The junkyard setup is better. OEM fans are quite and reliable. The kit fan (Boesch motor) sounds ike a siren.

The junkyard stuff is a dual fan from a late model GM vehicle. Just scrounged around at the yard with a tape measure until I found a set that was close. Make a few simple brackets out of Aluminium and set them in. I did use a Painless wiring kit. Painless uses a theromstat style switch that I think is better than the temp probe styles that seen in most kits. My 462 runs 170 to 180 degrees in 100 degree heat. You do need the dual fan setup.

I have three electric fans from various GM models if you want to experiment. Name a price.

I used the eletric fan set up from a GN,wired into a relay, comes on with the inigition, has a hi low switch.

Using this it is literaly a bolt in , cept for wiring, If your Regal has the full fan shroud that covers the rad and acts as the rad cover plate, ditch it , and get the cover plate from a GN (86-87), bolt in on then use the the lower rad support holes, that the orginal shroud mounted to and the upper holes in the top plate to hold the GN fan just like on the GN.

    Hope this helps

I've been reading on this on the turbo Buick web sites. It seems that if you get an OE dual fan setup from a 98-03 Dodge/Chrysler Intrepid/Concorde/300M, they are very powerfull fans and fit well.

I use an electric fan from the Ponitiac Fiero's very strong fans due to the engines in the rear and the fans up front blows like the wind kept my low 11 second regal cool on 90 plus degree days.15 bucks out of the pick a parts also use a low tech hayden fan controller. from O rileys. 35 bucks. I couldn't get it to go over 180 on the hottest days. Not the prettiest but definitely works. for around 50 bucks.

If you want to keep the pretty look, I believe you can fit your original fan shroud over top of it too.
