I have a numbers matching 1971 carb on an old style b4b and would like to convert to electronic choke, vs. the spring. Is this possible and what year Qjet can I get the parts from? Thanks.
There are some people that make kits for those, but I have not heard of one that works very well. The 75-76 Buick 455 quadrajets had a hot air choke system and they can be converted to electric choke and do work well with good components.
Heres a Thread from 3 years ago that I posted. I put this on my 73 Riv and found it works perfectly after finally getting the Rod the right length. I have one all set up with 2 different Rods and a New stat coil and the correct screw to attach to a 4B4. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?242440-divorced-choke-fix&highlight=4B4+Electric+choke
Car Crafting at it's best is using the best parts for the job regardless of the manufacturer. And great write up. Just to verify the Borg Warner TH 122 or Airtex / Wells 2C1112 attaches to the B4B and I just make the correct rod, right? Are you willing to sell the 'one all set up'? $$? Thanks for the reply.
