I have a 73 non emission 750 quad with a heat choke pull off, I plugged the heat risers in the heads so I am having trouble getting the choke to work properly. I also have a 74 smog quad that has an electric choke. Can I put the electric choke on my 73 and make it work? Thanks Tim
I believe that the electric choke used on these carbs has thge same size housing as the divorced choke used in the '70's. If true, the electric housing will fit, and work, provided that the housing is grounded, (remove the gasket used on the heated housing), and that the voltage is fully 12 volts, on with the ignition. The factory used a switch, powered by the oil pressure to provide voltageonly when the engine is running, but if the engine starts quickly, the difference is negligible. Ray
