I know that the Electra was the largest Buick Made back in 1965 for the general public but is the Electra wider then Le Sabre/ Wildcat? I am looking for a rear bumper for my Wildcat. They look the same but I am not sure of the widths of them? Can anyone tell me the differences between the two? Thank in advance for the help :TU: Don
Don, I have to look up my dealer brochures to see if the width is in there, but I can tell you that the front tread on all 3 cars is almost the same. For the LeSabre: 63 inches. And for the Wildcat/Electra: 63.4 inches. Rear thread: All 3 cars: 62 inches.
Rear Bumpers Since it seems that your question relates to the interchangeability of the rear bumpers, here's the simple answer for 1965: Wildcat and LeSabre rear bumpers are the same. Electra 225 rear bumper is different in design and will not fit your Wildcat.
I'm also searching a rear bumper for my Wildcat and so far, I found only Electras with good ones... The front one is the same however. The LeSabre/Wildcat and Electra models have the same width (80.0"), the difference in the front track is probably because of the aluminium drums on Wildcat and Electra models.
