    Hi all,

I need an opinion, I took the rotted headers off the Buick yesterday and put the stock manifolds back on. I called a local muffler shop and ask for a price on the pipes from the manifolds to the exisiting exhuast it's around 2 feet per side, now i need new studs in the manifolds and the collector gaskets, the guy told me 80$ dollars a side:af: :af:

Is that a fair price or am I being a total tight a##? I didn't think it would be that much:blast: The topper is I had my father-in-law talk to him 2 days earlier to find out how much it would cost for them to take off the headers and put the manifold back on and run the exhuast and tie back in to the original pipes and the quoted him 300$. Now I thought that was a little expensive so I decieded I would take the headers off and put the manifolds on to save some money, I think this guy is off his rocker :Do No:
Am I right in thinking that?

Let me know what you guys and gals think :TU:

    thank for the opinion Eric

Go to the Torque Tech or Year One wesite and compare with the cost of buying them uninstalled.

Why not just buy the exhaust from Torque Tech or TA Performance and install it yourself? You'll be getting a much better exhaust than the local muffler shop and it will last much longer too.

If I recall a pair of 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent head pipes from Torque Tech from the exhaust manifolds to about where headers would end were $115.

Very good quality and just right to add the x pipe before the mufflers.
