Last night Richard got a call from Dallas, who apologized profusely for overbooking the event. But he corrected the issues as he said he would, and made us for October 24-27, 2018. Set in stone, no issues, etc.

Sorry for everyone for confusion, we are good to go now!

I would personally recommend deleting the other thread to help avoid confusion.

No issues other than it might snow! That is crazy late in the year. For the first time ever, I am considering not going.

I can deal with it! Lovely drive through NC/Tenn at that time.

Doubt it will snow. Nothing wrong with cooler weather. I'm just glad the two events are seperated now.
Guess you can't make everyone happy all of the time.
People need to understand that this is a Buick event. Not Mopar, not Chevy, not LS. Don't think we have the clout to call the shots on dates.

I will say I'd bet the hills around beach bend will be absolutely beautiful with the fall colors. As of now, I'll be planning on being there.

Checking the weather in BG today (for sake of comparison), its 69 and sunny. I could lilve with that!! (but then it's supposed to be 49 and cloudy be saturday, so it'll be a crap shoot weather wise)

Thanks for the update Tony. I personally know some people that have rented the track at Beech Bend lately, and some other that have tried to rent it as well. All of them have stories to share about how they were jerked around by the owner on dates and/or jerked around on the price. I'm glad a date is finally locked down for the GS Nats so we can plan ahead to attend. Also great that it doesn't conflict with the NE Buick event and the PSMCDR.

Okay we've all got a 52 week notice. Time to get out in the garage and start turning wrenches or sanding some bondo. Tony I'll try to bring my black '72 for 2018 after a 10 year absence!

HA HA. I looked back at my photos and 2008 the last time I took that car to the GS Nats. It's hard to believe how fast time is passing. We all better get out and enjoy life and these events while we can. I hope we can meet in 2018.

Any teaser pics, Gary? It's the baddest 72 skylark on the planet, IMO.

I've been at Nationals in Bowling Green back in the day when it was usually held the first week of May when I've gotten sunburn in scorching sun, soaked in hail ridden tornatic storms, and amazed by snow flakes. On the way back home to Wisconsin, the next years weather never crossed our minds, .... just what we could do to be faster.

As a 30+ year resident of Bowling Green, I can safely bet you steak dinner at Longhorn that it will not snow. It might snow in May but never seen it snow in October.

Oh man, 20* cooler than this year's mid 80's is worth about .15 second quicker and 2 mph faster on my car. Just like 2015 some actual close to sea level air. I can't wait! The only days at the track that will be better will be Cecil County and Atco in November/December!

I was wondering about the temps too.. checked on Accuweather, and the historical average temps for that time period is upper 60's for highs, and lower 40's for low temps.

All a guy needs is a medium weight jacket, with a set of beer drinking gloves, and your good to go!

In MN, we call that "T shirt weather".. the medium weight jacket is for you southern boys.
