    I have had a interest for some time to run my 455 as a EFI. There are custom systems available (TA, FAST, etc) - but no major manufacture has anything off the shelf. However a Dec04 article in CarCraft shows a new ProFlow EFI system for Mopar. With the adapter plate made by by Charlie E to use Mopar manifolds on a BBB - this may be of some interest to me and others. I have left a call with the Edelbrock tech line for a few questions I have. 1) are the injectors ok for use with Ethenol(E85), and 2) can the system be modified to use a wide band O2 sensor - again for ethenol(E85) useage. What Mopar engine manifolds work with the adapter plates? The 318's/340's/360's/383's/440's or ?

    How much is the ProFlow system?? + the cost of the adaptors???

    Just curios. I, too, would very much like to run an EFI set-up, if it could be done for a reasonable amount of $$$$.

    Adapter...

    These adaptors open up a whole other world of intake manifold choices for the Buick lovers. The price for either set of adaptors is $240 plus shipping. You can e-mail me at;

    or call me at (270)685-4654

    Thanks, Charlie Evans

    Proflow, I think is going for around $2600. I will do some checking... Check out the CarCraft article in Dec 04 magazine.....

    One other option here would be to buy the mopar set-up and simply swap the injection parts over to the SPX intake. It already has injector bosses in it. Jim Burek

    That is a thought, but looking at the pic of the system, it may not be a simple swap as the fuel rails looks to be fixed to the injectors. Maybe just new rails would be needed. There are 2 types of adapters, for small or large Mopar. Adapters and EFI setup for large Mopar would allow the use of tall port heads. Does the new SPX work with tall port?

    I was thinking similarly.

    I forgot...what does "force fuel injecton" charge to convert a manifold. I better check. I would much rather have an SPX than an adapted Mopar... especially if the price was comparable.

    But the $3,800?? that TA is asking is WAY too much.

    Doesn't the new SPX have the bungs for EFI? Price out one of these plus the 454 injection system that edelbroke is touting...

    Force systems = more money, don't have a exact number but there systems start at $2750 - for a cheby. Yes I believe the SPX has the material available to locate the injectors just like the old Wildcat manifolds had. Actually I think that is a good idea, go with the 454 conversion with a SPX. I am still waiting for the tech guy to call me, I will ask him about the possibility of getting a system without the manifold. They (Edelbrock) should just step up to the plate and make it for the Buicks !!!

    anyone thought about the MegaSquirt system? I have read verry little about it but it seems it would work well for an engine that doesn't currently have a complete aftermarket option. I know from what I read that it doesn't control spark and is VERY time consuming but also VERY low priced.
