How much better is the Performer than the B4B?? Is it worh the change over or are they about the same????
I've actually heard that "out of the box" the b4b is a bit better. But after looking at them both I'm not sure why that would be, I think it's more the idea of having a vintage manifold talking rather than any dyno results. I would imagine that any differences could be overcome with an extra houlr or two of porting one way or the other.
Believe it was in the last issue of GSXtra- dyno results of 4 manifolds on the same motor. B4B made more HP and torque than the performer, but TA STG 1 and Cool Runner both made more HP than either Edelbrocks. Sorry, can't remember the details. If you've got a chance to get a good B4B, go for it. Mine is port matched and works great. Excellent throttle response and mid range, and wraps to the 5,500 shift points with ease. The nostalgia part is cool, too. :Brow:
