    Tunning Problem? Check This Out

Check every threaded hole in your edelbrock manifolds. I had THREE suck holes, and my friend found one in his manifold. They were factory drilled too deep and broke through into the intake plenum and ports. Check all eight carb holes and all accessory holes drilled toward the passages. These leaks caused many hours of tuning time wasted, and could be very destructive on leaned out cylinders. also CHECK THE NEW B4B's You never know!
These holes leak just enough air to drive you crazy tuning and spending and jetting, etc.

Gary, What a drag! Is Edelbrock standing behind the product? Can you see these holes from the outside or do I need to remove the carb? Do you have photos?

Mike, I saw the holes from the intake ports with it off the eng, but you might check for vacuum leaks or direct propane gas to the holes while the engine is running and watch for rpm changes. Be careful spraying carb cleaner as it may discolor your engine paint. It may be a good idea to put allen screws with locktight in all holes you aren't using. I put a small ball of porting epoxy in each open hole (with the manifold) off and rammed it to the bottom. I then cleaned off the epoxy that squezed through the holes so nothing could break off and go into the engine. I never called Edelbrock because I bought mine used and didn't discover the problem for 2-3 years. My friend : used,4 years!
