To make a long story short - if you want an interesting read, look up Ed Iskendarian on Wikipedia. It's a lengthy article, but well worth the read. BTW: He's 102 and still going strong.
There is a documentary/movie coming out on him soon as well...one of my all time heros. My dad ran Isky and Schneider cams in a lot of his stuff when I was growing up....old school superman for sure, and Ed is still at the top of the game. For proof just watch how many of the "Street Outlaws" crowd have Isky shirts and hats on. You may not like the show(s), but he's still helping getting "street cars" into the 5's and 6's in the quarter mile to this day. An absolutely amazing human being.
102, Wow, God blessed him! What an incredible contribution he has made. I bought his cam/lifter/spring set way back in 1977 for my 425 Nailhead, it's still going strong!
Many, many years ago our car club - the Push Rods of Waltham, MA briefly held the old AHRA (American Hot Rod Association) B M/R speed record. It was powered by a 380 something cubic inch Nailhead that had a Schneider cam with an Isky ultra-rev kit. We only did it once, but the big (at that time) Nailhead turned to a hair over 10,000 RPM and stayed together.
