has anybody tried to place a bid on ebay tonight ? i just spent the last few minutes trying to place a bid and got two different error messages. it was down for a while just a night or two back, now its down again. this is not good, bidders cant bid, and sellers will end up selling stuff cheap to those who have early bids. once in a while is understandable, but this is happening alot lately. i'm getting ready to list some parts, guess i better use a reserve or start it high, i'd prefer not to do that. henry
yeah i tried to reboot and all that but its down. i get that page that says, " the ebay page or feature you are trying to access is unavailable at this time " , or something to that effect. this is not an isp problem, this is an ebay problem. time is running out, looks like somebody will get a deal, and the seller will miss out on some money. the way it is anymore, i just about give up on sniping, just gonna have to bid when the system is up. arrrgh henry
erratic now well, after bouncing around ebay for a while, i did get my bid in, but it took some doing. it is still erratic, one minute you can view an item, next its either website not responding, or one of the other error messages. this is getting old, will somebody please start a new online auction site and give feebay some competition ? henry
yippeeee i won the item, its not so bad if it goes down while i'm the high bidder. :Brow: ah but seriously, it isnt helping sellers any. one of my sales ended during an outage recently, ebay says you must sell even if the system is down at the end. ha, i dont care about the first hour, but the last hour is the one that matters. heres to you ebay. :spank: henry
The problem with ebay........is if you have a gripe.......there's no phone number to call. You have to email them, and get automated answers "within 24 hours". Not my favorite way of doing business. Plus, they are like the federal government......always right no matter what, and their mistakes don't count. I have found their system extremely difficult to understand and use when I first got started. I still get confused using that website. Their searches don't work very well either. If you screw up because you are wet behind the ears, they don't care. They always win and if you lose, you're SOL. Just my take on the whole thing.:af:
Ebay has been changing lots of things around. I noticed that when I went to list a couple things the other day. I say they should concentrate on getting their pages to open faster rather than making the listing process more difficult. Just my opinion, but I think Ebay is getting to big for its britches. The cost of putting auctions on, the fees for selling, and then you have the paypal fees to deal with. Just think.....with ebay and paypal both being owned by the same company.....they have to be making a killing with their fees. But.....you pay to play.
Minor pet peeve I wish they would let you adjust the time stamp you see on your screen just like you can do on this board. And choose whether you want a 24 hour clock or not. It gets old having to calculate the time difference between Pacific time, and Central time where I am. (Let's see, auction ends at 2049:36 hours Pacific. That means I have to be at my computer at 10:49 & 36 sec. PM Central time.)
The other thing I noticed recently, when I search for "Buick' parts I only get 30 listings per page where I previously had been getting 50 listings per page. It made it much faster with the 50 per page. They must need the ad revenue based on page views maybe????:af: Larry
Re: Minor pet peeve I agree!:TU: Also, sometimes when I search I don't get all the Buick parts......I discover this when I find them posted here but they don't come up in my search. I do get all of the Tiger Williams Buick Ranyer/rendaywou totebag crap though!:af:
Dale, Maybe this is part of my problem........I tried to narrow down my search a little......here's a copy of what I use: 889 items found for (buick) -chevy -olds -pontiac -die -cadillac -amc -terazza -bagette -baguette -CD -KeyRing -wristwatch -charm -flag -golf -tiger -pads -pad -patch -core -shirt -poster -reatta -case -opel -ranier -rainier -key -chain -ford -keyring -logo -watch -diecast -hubcap -dvd -airbag -hubcaps -keychain -grand -national -2004 -2003 -2002 -2001 -2000 -1999 -1998 -1997 -1998 -1997 -1996 -1995 -1994 -1993 -1992 -1991 -1990 -1989 -1988 -1987 -1986 -1985 -1984 -1983 -1982 -1981 -1980 -1979 -1978 -1977 -1962 -1961 -1960 -1959 -1958 -1957 -1956 -1955 -1954 -1953 -1952 -1951 -1950 -1949 -1948 -1947 -1946 -1943 -1942 -1941 -1940 -1939 -1938 -1937 -1936 -1935 -1934 -1933 -1932 -1930 -1929 -1928 -1927 -1926 -1925 -1924 -1923 -1922 -1921 -1920 -1919 -1918 -1917 -1916 -1915 -1914 -1913 -1912 -1911 -1910 -1909 -1908 -1907 -1906 -1905 -1904 -04 -03 -02 -01 -00 -99 -98 -97 -96 -95 -94 -93 -92 -91 -90 -89 -88 -87 -86 -85 -84 -83 -82 -81 -80 -79 -78 -77 -62 -61 -60 -59 -58 -57 -56 -55 -54 -53 -52 -51 -50 -49 -48 -47 -46 -45 -44 -43 -42 -41 -40 -39 -38 -37 -36 -35 -34 -33 -32 -31 -30 This seems to work, but what do you think?o No:
