Easy Tail light bulb fix for the 69's

I glass beaded my tail light housings on my 69 and of course weakened some of the little springs in the sockets behind the contacts. So I bought new sockets at the local autoparts store but couldn't bring myself to hacksaw the old sockets off as per an old factory Buick dealer bulletin. So after many nights thinking about this I decided to try an idea I came up with and so far for the last year it has worked perfectly.
I just soldered a little bit more solder on the contacts as needed on the bulbs themselves to make their contacts a little longer and "Wall-La" I have not had a loose contact since and the tail/backup lights have now work great.
I was concerned that the soldier might fall off the bulb and short out the bulb but so far no problems for over a year.
Now i can use my original factory Buick wiring plugs/harness on the back of the tail light housings and didn't have to splice and dice new sockets in with heat shrink tubing and electrical tape and not to mention taking the rear bumper off and dismanteling everything.
As far as I know the 68's I would guess are the same fix!
