I regretfully didn't make it to Englishtown on Sunday.........That the bad news but the good news is.....
MY 69 GS 350 is back on the road....I registered it Friday. On Friday night I swapped the tires and wheels, washed it, etc.

Saturday morning I was supposed to be doing my honey do list, But I figured might as well drive the Buick to the Hardware store. I filled it up with gas. I noticed a miss and a real lack of power :(

    Continued.....

So I figured a tune up was in order..... Complete tune up from NAPA and still no power. 4bbl was opening but felt like a dog. Make a long story short the centrifical advance had frozen up. I helped myself to my buddies spare distributor (don't tell him, he still doesn't know:grin: ) And she back in action, baby!

But since I spent most of Saturday playing, I decided that I had better do the responsible thing and finish my "honey Do List" on Sunday.

How did every one fare at Englishtown????? I wish I had gone... Fill me in........

    OLDS442GM Going Fast With Class!

I didn't go Sunday either, but I ran with Yardley on Saturday...I ran 16.3 at 85mph...I didnt have time to do a full tune-up...just did plugs, which were shot  . I think I had my numbers screwed up from the last time I ran...I think it was 16.9 but then again I cant remember and I dont save the slips :Dou: . Anyway its off to repairing the whole car for the winter....I found a parts car in Pensi, and I will hopefully be able to get the winning bid, I will find out on Saturday :TU: . Wish me luck guys! :TU:

Great to hear that your car is back on the road Jake :TU:

E-Town was packed! Just as we were told it would be. There were plenty of Buicks plus it was a rain-out date for another points event. It was a lot of waiting. The rain did hold off and late in the day the sun actually showed itself. We only got 1 time shot as did everyone else that was racing. The results will be posted later on.

For the Quick 16 Buicks I took runner-up, red lighting to the one and only "War Wagon", Bill Lagna's 10 second wagon.
Bill ran a 10.52 at 126.36 with a .546 light on a 10.49 dial-in. I finally caught the big o'le red eye with a .489 and ran it flat out the door to a 9.86 at 132.82 with a 9.91 dial-in. Bill ran a great race! My previous run I beat out Mike Pollack with his '70 GS who ran a 10.41 on a 10.38 cutting a .524 light (uses a box). To my 9.93 on a 9.91 with a .526 light (no box). The win margin was .0111. I again stuck with Doug Heckers advise, "When it's a close to the end race, make sure you cross first". Most of the top guns in the group surprisingly lost in the first round. There were also two 8 second Turbos in the group. Along with Cotton Performance running two cars in the class. Jack I believe went a few rounds also and was running strong. I am pretty sure there were 6 Turbos and 10 V-8's so it was a pretty good mix. Also to let everyone know, nitrous oxide and delay boxes are aloud, yet the two cars in the finals were not using boxes or juice. In fact of the final 4 only Mike Pollack was using a delay box.

Bill and I decided to split the 1st and 2nd place winnings regardless on the outcome, so we both took home a grand each (cash on the spot). Bottom line for me, it was a bitter sweat ending for me. Losing the finals by deciding not to run a careful race at the lights (but who knows, that's racing) in the final, yet after seeing the red, ran her all out running my best of my short season in that round. Though the car didn't run totally as I expected, (wanting those low 9.70 times) it was in the ball park considering the weather conditions (humid and strong head wind) I was told it slowed the cars about 2 tenths. But, nothing broke, leaked and no last minute "Oh sh%ts".

Summing things up, It was packed yet it gave me plenty of time to watch. I only wished I had more time to talk to people there. I had a ball and my son (9 yrs) after attending Cecil and now E-Town has been bitten by the racing bug....hmm Jr. dragsters?

Oh well, time to plan for winter projects and ready the car for Norwalk to help the eastern guys beat up on the Ohio clans:grin:

Oh and John Zeruka, my son Jimmy is coming out too, let your son know as they both seemed to had a great time together at Cecil.

:TU: Congrats to both of you. Splitting the pot sounds like a sure winner. N.E. guys are known for things like that.

CASH;- on the spot, sounds like another good thing.

Two young fellows playing at a BUICK meet, sounds like serving an apprenticeship program that will have good results.

I could not be happier for all of the winners, runner ups, and attendees.
