How the heck do you remove the e-brake cable that runs through the floorboard out the firewall & into the frame.
    Any tips appreciated.
    Thanks

Geeze, I had the same problem. What a little pain! I just taped over the sucker and painted around it.

Jeff take a small hose clamp and put it over the cable inside the car and tighten it, push the cable out about 1/8 inch and then remove the clamp and the cable will pull right out. it might take a couple tries to get it just right but it works. i've done it to quit a few cars. otherwise they are a PITA to try to hold all those little tabs in at once.

Lisle tools sells a tool to pull those cables out. It sells for under 10 bucks and makes like way simple!

3/8 hose clamp works great. It's also good for removing the cables from the rear brake backing plates. I tighten it as close to the base as possible, then tap the cable through with a punch.

the box end of a 1/2 inch wrench works some times too.

Or sometimes a 9/16 deep socket over it. Worst case scenario I've been able to squeeze one of the tabs at a time through the hole with little vicegrips, keeping the cable tilted to the side that is through, till it comes through on the third one

The clamp and the socket.....both great tricks. I never thought of that. When I was messing with mine I was trying to work one tab in at a time alittle, finally got pissed and just taped it and painted around the little bitzch.
