Well after waiting to get the motor on the dyno I finally made it on Sat.. I had Brian Earicks build my motor and we dynoed it at his shop. I was happy to come away with 515 HP at 5200, and 541 ft lbs of torque at 4900. This is with iron heads, and on pump gas. I still have a few carb issues to work out. It is a Q-jet, and during the runs we couldn't get it to idle down below 1500 RPM. I will change the power piston and see what I can get it down to. Can't wait to get it to the track in prep for the Buick days at Norwalk. I can't speak highly enough about the services that I recieved from Brian, and James. They are both GREAT people to deal with. Congratulations Mike! I would be absolutly thrilled with those results:3gears: V-8 board members here are lucky that are several competent engine Buick builders out there. Are you running the Ultimate 500 cam?? Brian has helped me set up the suspension & converter, resulting in better et's my way also. see you in Norwalk! Randy :TU:
Thanks Randy I had the 500 cam in the car at the T&T when I spun a rod bearing. I decided that it wasn't fast enough for what I was looking for. Since I had the motor out I found that when I origanally redid the suspention I had over tightened all of the hardware. I have gone through and taken care of all of this, and added a set of Moroso front springs. Hopefully all of this will add up to a lower E.T.. Thanks again. Mike
