Suggestions as to which brand names give you the best bang for your buck or which brands have been used here with success. Looking for the best sound and heat insulation qualities. Thanks,Kirk
Here are a couple of links to some sound proofing companies I looked at and will probably be using. http://www.soundproofcow.com/sound-deadening/sound-deadening-material.html http://www.soundproofcow.com/automobile-soundproofing.html#soundproofing-products http://www.raamaudio.com/index.php?...on=com_virtuemart&Itemid=60&vmcchk=1&Itemid=3 Scott
I did the floors in my 66 Special with the aluminum-backed asphalt strips avail from Lowes..... With the windows rolled up, and the stereo turned off, it actually IS quieter!:bla:
Eastwood is now selling a "value" sound and heat stuff: http://www.eastwood.com/interior-repair/sound-deadening/eastwood-thermocoustic-material.html - Bill
I can vouch for the kit from Quiet Ride. I put one in a triple black non-air 1970GS 4-speed I just restored. Great quality and it works exceptionally well in keeping the heat and noise out. The car has the MT headers and full 2 1/2 exhaust out the back. With a 500+ HP pump gas motor it sounds nasty out the back but very quiet inside, even my wife couldn't believe the difference inside versus outside. And even in this summer's heat the car stays very cool inside while cruising or stopped in traffic. It is a little pricey at $200 but I would buy it again without hesitation. Good luck, Tom
I've been on this bandwagon for a while... If you want the best sound and insulation properties check out lizardskin.com. I'm a believer! For those that have sealed your seams, laid sound deadener and cut and taped insulation- how many man-hours did it take you to do the whole thing including headliner and inside doors? Erik
