OK, I need to know something. Tomorrow I'll be firing up my new street 462ci on my run stand to break it in, the problem I have is that the run stand has an MSD 6al box on it, but the tach I have doesn't work when connected to the box. No I'm not interested in buying a tach adapter, but what about hooking up a DWELL/ Tach tool, you know, the one used for adjusting the dwell on a stock distributor. Will the Tach work on an MSD ignition and a Blaster 2 coil if I hook it up like a stock points set up??? It gets hooked up on the neg. side of the coil (I think) and the other attaches to the ground. Will this work?????? I guess if not, pretty sure I can guestimate 2000rpm for the cam break in......

No, won't work. The MSD box applies 450 volts to the coil. The only connections to the coil should be the orange and black leads. Buy another Tach. My Autometer tach works fine with my MSD Digital 6.
