most of the remakes are.....the lone exception so far "Gone in 60 seconds", saw the original at the movies as a kid, but I think the new one is much better!

But I will say every part with the car looks cool, The again, I could just watch a 90 minute car chase with the Duke Boys.

    Oh great.

Another movie where Hollywood has lost all ability to write movies, so they get together and play-act the shows they saw when they were all kids.

That is fun for their home videos, but the rest of us don't care to watch you overpaid actors re-live your childhood fantasies. I would have liked to play a Duke Boy too when I was eleven, but I don't want other people to watch.

When will Hollywood learn how to write intersting movies again? If I wanted to watch a show from the '70s, just about all of them (including the Dukes) are available on DVD.

For the record I am a huge Dukes fan and have some DVDs of the old shows.

I don't get that clip, the camera is all shaking and the sound is left on there, but the whole thing is clearly staged. It's probably some crew guy filming for himself during an actual shoot.

I don't care what the clip is for... it's some awesome driving.
I agree the movie looks to be stupid, what with all the terrible casting, but I will go see it for the cars, the stunts and the T/A.!!!
I have waisted an hour and a half doing other stuff too.

Oh yea, Carmen Electra all the way!!!! not Jessica Simpson. Butt she will do.

It's a movie based off of an 80's tv show about some hicks that drive around in a fast car while being chased by idiot cops, how good is it supposed to be? This isn't trying to compete with the shawshank redemption or citizen kane here. I think you're all expecting way too much out of it.

Simpson should have at least gone brunette instead of blonde to stay true with the character.

It also looks like it's set in modern day, hopefully it'll be modern day hickville, where it's always 1949.

Sorry guys, but Simpson all the way!! :TU: Yeah, Electra has brown hair, but that's all that fits the part to me.
It's not supposed to be an academy award winner either. :Dou: Heck, the critics hated the Dukes back in 79, so I am sure they will hate them in 05.
Looks great and can't wait! :beer

Yeah, it's staged. It's a scene from the movie, you can see a short instance of the generallee.mpg movie in the trailer.

Willy Nelson playing Uncle Jesse works as far as looks but doesn't sound right and Burt Reynolds is not Boss Hogg. Wrong choice there.

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

Speaking of Boss Hogg, anybody else think that Benjamin Franklin on the $100 dollar bill looks like boss Hogg? :Do No: :Dou:

I agree that Burt Reynolds is the absolute wrong choice for Boss Hogg. My friend and I were discussing this yesterday and came to the conclusion that one person would have been PERFECT. Danny Devito. Stick the white suit on him and you got the perfect Boss in my opinion.
