It can be used on any of them. If you take the plastic snorkels off the 69-72 air cleaners, they will look like this one.:Brow:

I'm pretty sure they're the same....here's Larry's air cleaner. The GS455 sticker sits on top of a cover that goes over the thermovac dealys, and you can barely make out the ends of the snorkels.

hmmm....for some reason i was under the impression there was a difference between the 69, 70-72, and 73/74. might be the plumbing, maybe?

While far from an expert, I believe the egr was on the right side in 1969 and moved to the left for 1970 and later.

I found the differences between the 69-71 air cleaners, but haven't found out if the 73-74 interchange with them or not.

Some questions about GS air cleaners came up. I didn't know where to put this thread, so I stuck it here.

Basically every year GS air cleaner from 69-72 is different.

The 69's had the blow-by hose on the passenger side and the snorkle was made of fiberglass, with visible fibers. The piece going to the heat riser was made of rubber.

The 70's had the blow-by hose on the driver side and the snorkle was made of fiberglass, with visible fibers. The piece going to the heat riser was made of plastic, and stayed this way through 72.

In 71 they also had the blow-by hose on the driver side but the snorkle was made of either some type of composite plastic/fiberglass material, or was fiberglass but the fibers were no longer visible. Either way the type of material did visually change.

In 72 they also had the blow-by hose on the driver side but one of the snorkles is triangular in shape, due to the air pump. The snorkle was made of either some type of composite plastic/fiberglass material, or was fiberglass but the fibers were no longer visible.

In case you don't know what year air cleaner you have, the air cleaners are also date coded. If you take the top off and look inside the date code will be spelled out in green numbers.

Now, that's what I have come up with after looking at air cleaners for many years. Believe what you want.
