I have a 55 w/original engine and manual trans. Have located a pair of 56 auto. dual ex. manifolds. Will these work with my car? Thanks

I'm not real familiar with these years, but I recall that there is a clearance problem with the brake booster. Also your '55 doesn't have the holes in the frame (factory) for the new pipe like a '56 does. Happy motoring, Frank

    Hi Century
I am having the same problem. I have a 54 Century with standard
3 speed, and would like to install dual exhaust. If you have any success with this installation, I would like to hear about it.

    dual exhaust conversion

When I put duals on my 54 Special convert, I used the stock manifolds and had a muffler shop bend the pipes to fit. We did have to cut a hole in the frame on the drivers side for the pipe to go through. I do have an interferance problem with the radius rod on the drivers side hitting the pipe when I have people in the back seat and hit a big bump. It was not eaisy getting around the gas tank either. If anyone has pictures on how the 56 pipes are routed, it may help us all converting the 54 and 55 single exhaust cars to duals. Brian
