how do you put in exhaust for the dual on the regal, the cross over is single hump for the exhaust and not on the drivers side. Any 70s car interchange or ta or other make cross over for the car?
G force make a crossmember that has the dual hump. Some times you can get away with running a 2 1/4in dia. hose under the stock crossmember without any problems (just depends on how low your car sits). I personally got a crossmember from a 68-72 A body and just cut it down and bolted it in with no mounts (still had the trans mount). Gave some harmonic noise at certain speeds, but nothing I could hear after putting on the Headers and 3in Flowmasters :Brow:
without changing crossmember....I have had muffler joints run 2 pipes under one side only .....but not big 3 inchers..
350 Buick In 82 Regal I did run duals on one side with a pipe like a crossover and ran both in the hump and then crossed back at the rear axle, for dual look, but was more costly cg
I took 2 of the correct year x members and made one out of them. I took the hump off of one and put it on the other side to make a 2 hump x member. I did this to my 77 Grand prix. Thanks, Scott
Ah the crossmember debate rears its head again. Check out the FAQ for more details and pics on this...
i had an altered xmember which was great with my small block chevy, but one i went to my 455 with the big ta headers i had to buy the gforce one. i have to admit it is a very nice product. looks alot better then my fabbed up one ever did too. dan
crossmember summit has gbody crossmembers for these that bolt in if you have 84 or newer with the 2004r bolt holes if not they have an adapter for it crossmember is around 200 ish and will fit the biggest exhaust you could think of. andy
Or Or you could do what I did which was heat the section of the crossmember the pipe would interfere with and flatten it in a big vise we have at work. Matbe not as pretty as the G-Force piece, but alot cheaper and worked perfectly... o No:
