I need a complete dual exhaust setup for my '71 Kingswood (tow vehicle). I haven't found any sources for aftermarket or replacement pipes. My next step is to take my chances with the local Midas type shop if they will do it. Has anyone with a full size wagon found another solution?
Does anyone know of a great exhaust shop near Ann Arbor? Thanks.

I just bought dual exhaust for my Wildcat here. I haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on the fit, but the guys feedback looked excellent. It isn't mandrel bent, but I figure it will still be far superior to the single exhaust (also not mandrel bent) I currently have. Pipes are aluminized and the price seemed reasonable.

I think he can make up pretty much anything, so send him an email.

Any GOOD HotRod shop local to you should be able to whip up a set .... even mandrel bent.

Go to a fri nite cruise and talk to the Rodders.....

I ordered my dual exhaust from ebay seller "klasskollection" (see the link above). It looks good, the bends are pretty smooth, and the price was right, $290 with the shipping for aluminized dual exhaust. Delivery was 9 days. It's not mandrel bent but way better than the single exhaust that I had. I requested the standard replacement mufflers to keep things quiet but turbos can be included at the same price. The only issue is I have to buy an expander to fit the muffler to the pipes but maybe that's to be expected?? :Do No: I can't comment on how it sounds because it's not all hooked up yet.

Also, I bought an expander from Harbor Freight ($16) and it immediately broke, so I immediately returned it for a full refund.

The full size 71 Wagon layout intereferes with dual tail pipes on each side due to the spare tire well.

There was a thread here with pics showing duals exiting on the drivers side.

A 3" single exhaust with a good hi flow muffler would be a good alternative.

I want to close the loop on this thread regarding my experience with the exhaust I bought on ebay. The purchase experience was good but there are a few things to consider.

    1) A pipe expander was required at each end of the muffler. I was very disappointed with this because it was supposed to be an original "factory" fit exhaust system. The pipes should have fit together.

    2) The tailpipes had to be tweaked for proper alignment. This is probably standard operating procedure in an exhaust shop but difficult when you are on your back.

    3) It's significantly louder than stock but not obnoxious. The mufflers are smaller (narrower) than original. I did not order the resonators and I don't believe my car came with them.

    4) Spent $290 on the exhaust system plus $100 on clamps, hangers, and an extra pipe to get the right hand exhaust to exit on the left side. I had acquired new NOS hangers for the dual exhaust so that made the job easier.

    5) Everything looks great. The whole system is aluminized. Combined with the shorty headers I didn't have to sacrifice any ground clearance and the engine should have more power for pulling the camper or my Buick.

I decided to exit both 2 1/4" tailpipes on the driver's side. There is 1/8" - 1/4" clearance to the shackle bracket worst condition.

Although I have the satisfaction of knowing all the work was done to my high standards, if I had to do it again I would take it to an exhaust shop because I don't think I saved any money and it took me an entire weekend by doing it myself.
