Dennis I am so sorry to hear that news. I am REALLY glad you son is ok but I dont have kids just dogs. The car is a car but if it was my dog I would be going nuts right now. I would honestly say I would have been arrested for my actions against that guy. I cant imagine what your son is going through but I hope he finds the strength within to overcome that incident.
Please let him know I really feel for what he is going through as I just lost a chocolate lab to cancer.

Unbelievable Ed... really hated to see those pictures, since I know as well as anyone how hard and long you worked on that project.

I hope it's just sheetmetal damage, with maybe just a tweek on the frame horn, that can be straightened without much trouble.

    that really sucks.

The only thing more sickening than the damage to those cars is the idiot that did the damage. At the very least no one was injured...you have all the support in the world on V8Buick.

Hi Ed, wow, what a bad night at the show. I have a streight core support and a couple of inner fenders that are not full of rust holes. I am in Clear Lake, Manitoba.

Thanks Ed, he did have a hard time sleeping at night for awhile after that as he said he could see the dog going under the truck and seeing the tires running her over. Sorry to hear about your dog ,its painful enough when things like this happen but when its caused by idiocy it really tries your patience.Hope you get the car back on the road soon, If there is anything I can help you with just let me know.

I am so sorry to see that, and hear that. I know that these cars are like members of the family (the ones we like). It makes me sick to my stomach to see the pictures. I'm glad no pedestrians were hurt. Also feel bad for the owner of the Chevy. I'm glad this guy was caught...now I hope he burns in hell for what he has done. Best of luck to you in your repair work ahead.

    Wow!

Glad they caught the guy! Immagine the PITA it would be if he couldn't be identified? Did you get a look at his rig that was dammaged? I'd try to get photos if you can before the "evidence" is altered, or turns up missing.

I don't even know what to say about that.
No amount of insurance payout is going to make up for that fact that that beautiful work was done by you over a 6 year period.

I forgot to mention that I have some fenders here too, they are not in the best shape, but may have some useable metal to repair yours

I've followed this thread since the beginning and I'm speechless at the careless neglegence this douche bag displayed at an event where scores of people were walking around. It is obvious by the amount of damage to BOTH vehicles and by how far the Skylark was moved upon impact that the driver was going very fast. Certainly too fast for a car show.

I would hope to see the police book him on at least DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless endangerment.

Two years ago when I got ocified drunk at the BPG Nats I was smart enough to request someone else to drive my car home. It just isn't worth the consequences. This guy is going to be in a boatload of sh!t. He'll lose his license, for sure. And pay massive fines, court costs and legal fees. And possibly talk with Bubba as his new roommate for a few days. Oh, and his insurance will go through the roof, if they don't drop him.

    It is just so stupid.

Ed, you need to find out who his insurance company is, then you MUST get a Public Adjuster involved. He/She will make sure your car is repaired the way it needs to be.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

That sucks man! I will check to see if I have anything you need.

Why can't people just party and ride with someone who has not been drinking? Don't drink and drive!:af:
