    Hi,

I have a few different questions and need feedback.

My front windows are off a bit. I started to mess around with aligning them but I am running into a few snags.

    1) How far up should the window go within the window frame? I am using the backwindows as a guide but I cannot get the window to line up straight with the back window in the channel where the front and back windows meet while having the top of the window be straight in the window frame. Also, the front of the window seems to be a little far away from the weatherstripping. Maybe there is no way to ever get it perfect and I just deal with it. I attached a few pictures that aren't the greatest.

    2) When I do line it up, how does everyone consider the window rolled up completely. I notice that with the door card/panel off, the window goes up a little farther then when the door card is on. With the door card/panel on I can get it to the same height with like a really hard last window roll up effort which may not be the correct way to approach this. I can raise the window a bit and eliminate that last hard roll up potentially.

    3) I have noticed that the nuts for all the internals were all a little lose and also when I thought I lined up the window really well and put the door panel/card back on, I guess that added resistance and it caused the window to move and when I pulled the door panel/card off to check, one of the window stop nuts were loose. Should I lock tight everything? Also, I added grease in a bunch of spots, anything else to look out for?

    Thanks,

    Steve

First thing you want to do is adjust the quarter glass. Then align the door glass to the quarter glass. You'll likely have to open and close the door 59.6 times before you get it right.

Did you replace the roof rail weatherstripping? There's also an adjustment on the A pillar stainless weatherstripping retainer to move the bottom in and out

The door panel has nothing to do with it. Keep adjusting till you satisfied with the reveal between the quarter/ door. The glass should fit snugly into the roof rail so there's no wind noise

I have a thread or two on here with my before and afters on glass adjustment. I've done it on my 70 GS beater, the Aquamist car and my friends 69 GS 400 among others

I put in all new weatherstripping about 5 years ago all over the car. The rear glass seems good to go, nice tight fit, no wind noise.

Where is the A pillar adjustment? What does it look like?

Also, I looked up your post. Your weather stripping looks different than mine, Yours looks like it has and indented part the glass goes into and then some of the rubber goes over the outside of the glass on the top part of the glass.

Or use the factory procedure/Kent-Moore glass blocks & be done quickly:).

I actually never looked it up. Or investigated the tool. I always used the "let's try doing this and see" method

Any time I am tasked with finding any kent-moore specialty tools, I come up empty handed.

Try doing the 62 Cadillac propeller shaft alignment without them. Impossible! Trial and error of shimming driveline components until vibration goes away. Lunacy.

I'm with Jason on the adjustments...it gets easier as you do them. I actually work from front to back, though. Occasionally, I will come back to the front glass and tweak it to match the vertical reveal at the quarter window seal. I find myself leaving everything loose, rolling both windows up all the way where they appear in a good spot....then tightening everything in place. THEN I will make the small adjustments. I can have both sides done in a couple hours.

I found a site online called flowstateman.com that sells 3d printed versions of the kent moore tool for $18. I've never used them myself.

Beets the heck out of using needle nose plyers.
