    Hi everyone,

I gave my machinest the list of oil mods to be done to my 455 block. These were the mods that have been posted here for a while. However, there does not seem to be an agreement whether it's necessary to drill out the pass. side oil galley. It narrows down pretty good about half way back. I know Buick made it that way to try to increase oil press. to the rear main. I also know that you can't do this mod. if you're running a roller cam--which I am not.

What do some of you think about the necessity of this mod?

    Thanks in advance.

    I wouldn't, and didn't.

That is the only mod I did not do. If you went thru the mains to the cam, thru the sending unit to front cam, fr cover, etc, and you are using the dual groove cam bearings, I'd say you're fine.

Besides, if the drill bit breaks, you probably will not be able to remove it. Or if the drill bit walks a little, and you punch out the side, goodbye block.:error:

I do assume you used Matt Knutson's recommendations on buickperformance.com?:Do No:
