I did a search on drag radials and did not find what I was loking for.
What is going to be the best drag radial out there for 2008?
I need to buy a new set for this season, any suggestions on what you have run, and psi..

    Your thoughts would be helpful.

Many thanks, have a fun safe season.

M/T's are one of the stickiest. That's what I run. The Nittos aren't as sticky, but will last longer on the road.

The MT's are incredible. I have run the 275/50-15 at the track. I bought a set of 275/60-15's for the street this year.

Has anyone tried the new Hoosier or Good Year drag radials? I had been running the BFG drag radials, and was planning on going with the MTs unless there was good news about either of the new tires.

I have M/T's on the car now, but I heard that they are getting hard to find. Apparently M/T stopped making them for awhile. I don't know details. All of the Outlaw Drag Radial racers in this area use M/T's. One guy here got the very first set of GoodYears, made 6 passes and took them off, went back to M/T's. Of course that's a 7 sec car, so they might react different on a slower car.

Since you asked, I run 18 psi on a bad track and 19-20 psi on a really good track.

    Have fun.

    I've run M/Ts and BFGs...

BFG's last longer on the street than the M/T's, but don't hook up well on the street. With a white paint pen, you can fill in the letters and give a Raised White Letter look. They do well on the track, last season I left them around 17psi with good results.

The M/T's are just, hands down, the best drag radial out there IMO. I've ran the 235/60 baby size and dead hooked on the street a couple years ago. I'm in the process of picking up a new set of M/T's for this season.

Gonna go 275/50's this year, seemed like I could use a shorter tire after last year's 275/60 BFGs had me shifting into 3rd as I was going through the traps.

Can any of you guys recommend what size fits best in the 70-72 rear wheel wells? I have 15"x8.5" rims with 4-7/8" backspace.

You can easily put a 275/60 tire on there or a 295 tire. But a 325 tire won't fit. Not enough backspacing.

whamo, I use 275/50 15 BFG drag radials they fill up the wheel well very nicely, not to big not to small. I run 21 psi and they hook very well on the track.

    Steve,
I concur, the 275/50-15 looks awesome in the 70-72 wheel well. They are only 26" tall. I've used them for 2 years now. Just bought a set of 275/60-15's for the street. They do not have as wide a tread, but they are 28" tall.

where do you get such a thing? Who much do they usually cost? How long does it last? Does it stay on if you wash the tire?

I have the same questions and were you talking about for the BFGS or the MT...i have always like the MT in white on the slicks...but they dont come that way on the drag radials.

also...does MT not make the 295 in the drag radial?

I bellieve they were talking about the pens you can buy at autozone and places like that. You can buy them in red, white, yellow, and other colors. You can accent the lettering on the tires; like how the drag radial letters are in black, you can color them to white or whatever color to make the name stick out.

4 1/2" on my 15 X 8" wheel. That is the way they come if you order the repro 15 X 8" Buick wheel. No issues with fit at all.

What he said. It's more of a sleepy street race thing we used to do around here...
