Doug Nash 5 Speed, used. 2 shifters, Vertigate, used; Long shifter, new. $1500. Located in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
Interested pending more info Is this trans been used against a 455 ? What did you have this in ? Looking for trans for my 70 gs455 will this fit without cutting my floor ?
Ryan I believe you will have to cut the floor to install the Doug Nash, I tried t put a Tremic in my X and it would not fit either, although I have heard that the new ones out go right in I need to ask a friend who sells Tremic to find out.
The Doug Nash 4+1 later became the Richmond 5 speed. I've installed 2 of the Richmonds into my '66's. The case is just a bit larger than a 4 speed, and fit without any floor mods. I did have to trim the shifter opening since the shifter is further back than a 4 speed. It's basically a close ratio trans with a 1:1 5th gear and super low 1st gear. Works well with 2 series rear gears.:3gears:
Sorry for the late response, I was away. I had it in my Camaro. Parted out the car long ago, kept it to use some day, time to sell the parts. I can take some measurements if you like. I believe the first gear is a 3.25. I will verify and provide any info. that I can if asked.
