How do I get the double sided tape residue off my 90 Chev 3/4 ton.
I replacing the box, have peeled off the old trim and I'm left with this sticky tape. Last time I tried everything, eventually had to scrape it off or roll it off with my thumb and then sand.
    Thanks Bruce

Try a hair dryer to heat it up and then the finger/thumb method.

Use 3m Adhesive Remover, sold in most auto parts stores that carry paint supplies. Works Great!!!!

Lighter fluid, acetone, or Goof Off

    WD-40 works fine too.

PB blaster works instantly, not sure what it will do to paint though.

    Hi,
Thanks for the replys. Here's what I did  Drivers side I used a paint stripping heat gun, removed about 65% of the adheasive, the rest I removed with acetone and a rag, took about 40 min. Pass side I did the same thing except I got a little more agressive with the heat gun and went under the adheasive and removed the top later of paint, no acetone  Were going to sand, prime and paint anyway. Took about 15 min.
    Thanks Bruce
