Don't Do Business With...

    Door-To Door Auto Transport.

    Cliffs: They suck. Horrible communication and completely unreliable.

    Extended: Okay, so I bought a car through eBay on Nov 29th. I decided to use DTD after looking at there website and getting a good quote from them, plus it was owned by prior military. The car was in Montana and being shipped to Virginia, so I expected it to take a while.
    After calling the company on Wednesday the 9th, they collected my deposit and told me my car would be picked up that Friday. Saturday comes along and i get an email from them stating the following,
    "The car carrier for your vehicle is running behind schedule, as of now your vehicle is not scheduled for pickup today. However, car carrier arrival times, changes nationwide hour by hour. Our car carrier traffic updates are finalized between the hours of 4 and 5 p.m. Pacific Time. You will be notified by our Dispatcher around/about that time if any scheduling changes occur with your vehicle shipments.g and I get an automatic email."

    Okay, fine. I expected as much. So i call and ask when they expect to pick up the car. The reason I cared so much is becuase the guy I bought it from was going on vacation at the end of the week (19th) and if it couldn't ge tpicked up before then, he would have to put the car in storage (at my expense of course). Anyway, DTD said the truck would be there to pick the car up either Tuesday or Wednesday. I explained the time crunch and they said no problem. The 15th comes and again i get another email stating the same as above. So i wait for the next day to see if it'll get picked up. This is where **** started getting suspicious.

    Come Thurday I hadn''t heard anything from the company so I assumed the car had been picked up so i emailed the seller. Nope. SO i called DTD and sked what was going on. They said it will be picked up Friday, no doubt. Satuday rolls around and guess what, no pick up. So i call again and they tell me my truck broke down and they don't know when they were going to be able to get my car. WTF!?

    I ran out of time and had to pay to put the car into storage. Now, in addtion to having to pay for storage, everytime the company tells me they're going to pick up the vehicle, i have to contact the seller and he has to drive to the unit and take the car out and ge tit ready for transport. Then the snow storm happened so I was screwed there. I called the company back after Christmas and asked THEM when they could guarnatee pickup. They told me the 12th of Jan. So as the Friday before the 12th rolls around i call to confirm, good to go. The following Monday (11th), good to go. The 13th comes around, no email except from the seller stating they never showed up. Again, WTF!? I received no email form the company this time. I call them and they tell me the truck was delayed but in the area andw ill have it picke dup later in the day on the 13th. 14th rolls around, no email form company, but again seller lets me know they haven't showed up. I call again, this time I talk to the dispatcher directly. He tells me the car will be pcked up in afew hours and he will call the truck to confrim. No more than 15 minutes later, i get an email saying the truck was delayed. That was it. I was done. I had already bitched ou the receptionist once, although i apologized cause it wasn't her fault. So, I called back and cancled myorder with them and asked for my money back. They said I had to write an email to them and explain why i should get a refund. So I did and its been two weeks with no reply. I'm pretty much counting the money as gone at this point. When i get back to the states I plan on lookin ginto filing a claim with the BBB.

    Good times. I ended up calling another company recommended from some people on this forum and the guy was completely honest and explained the location was off the normal route and it would be at least 8-10 days before they could pick it up. They had my car picked up in 3 days and it was delivered 2 days ago.

    Sorry for the length, spelling, and grammar of this post. I had to get it off my chest and I plan on posting this on every board that I am a member of. This **** is STILL ongoing until i get my refund...IF i ever get it at all.
