I got the interior done in the car!!(well except for the door panels, i will get those on tomorrow, they required more work than anticipated.. in another thread) I gutted the interior(no pics, too excited) and did some rust repair. made one patch panel and used panel bonding adhesive to hold her down.. used about 90sq feet of FatMat brand rattletrap sound deadener. From fatmat.com now for the good stuff. Essex brand molded carpet for rockauto.com. seat backs and bases from OPGI. (wish they fit better, just a bit thinner than originals, though they look good.) new steering wheel, also from opgi. the armrest covers and headliner from CEJAS Auto upholstery online. bought fabric foam and the like from a local upholstery shop. used 2 cans of SEM satin black dye on the white interior panels, console and new panels to make them match. the seats were done by great friends of mine. and look amazing. here is what i started with. and what i ended up with i am in love with it! and tit will look great when the car gets painted this winter.
Nice! I dropped my door panels and kick panels off at the shop yesterday for the same treatment. I doubt I'll have funds to get the seats done this yr.
i have almost 1800 out in parts. and they didnt want any money for labor. but they are getting some anyway!! the door panels look amazing, will get that writeup done in the other thread about arm rest covers... but sem dye, vinyl, and liberal amount of spray adhesive do some amazing things!!! thanks for the complements guys!
Looks Great !! ... I dont know if the old seat covers are the deluxe type, but over the years I've seen guys hunting for the "buttons" for the deluxe interiors. You may want to see if anyone wants/needs them before pitching them
Good to know! I also have the head rests and guides as well as the backs in white, i can clean then all up if anyone wants the them
It fit good, the guys i had helping me did upholstery for a living and let me know that no molded carpet fits perfect. You will need glue, good spray adhesive, the best you can get and razor blades,. there were a few relief cuts made that were necessary to make it fit properly....but glued down you couldn't tell at all.and you can't bury a jagged cut. So it fit as good as out possibly could, btw you can't do relief cuts with nylon loop style. Just cut pile. Glued down the back only and along the doors.. Works great.
With the car? The interior hasn't been touched since, y the big turbo is out at majestic turbos getting made bigger, ready for another season i hope! Looking forward to mid 11's
